Douglas
R. Weikert, M.D.
Associate Professor of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation
Dr. Weikert received his MD degree from the Vanderbilt
University School of Medicine in 1987 and completed his Internship
and orthopaedic residency at Vanderbilt University from 1987-92.
He completed a fellowship in hand surgery at Indiana Hand center
from 1992-93.
His clinical interests include:
hand and upper extremity reconstruction, acute hand trauma, microvasular
surgery reimplimentation and congenital hand deformities.
Donald
H. Lee, M.D.
Professor of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation
Dr. Lee is the son of an orthopedic surgeon following
in his father’s footsteps. He is a graduate of Georgetown
University and West Virginia University School of Medicine. Following
an Orthopedic residency at George Washington University School of
Medicine, he was the Senior Annie C. Kane Hand Fellow at Columbia
Presbyterian Medical Center.
As an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at
the University of Alabama at Birmingham, he was the Hand Fellowship
Director for the combined Orthopedic Surgery-Plastic Surgery Hand
Fellowship program at UAB.
As a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt
University, he is the Academic and Hand Fellowship Director of a
newly established combined Orthopaedic Surgery-Plastic Surgery Hand
and Upper Extremity Fellowship at Vanderbilt. He is also a member
of the Vanderbilt Shoulder Center.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic
Surgery, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Society
for Reconstructive Microsurgery, American Orthopedic Association,
Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, and an examiner for the
American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is certified with the
Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand.
His clinical and research interests
include: conditions about the upper extremity including the
hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. He has been named in America’s
Top Surgeons, as well as National Register’s, Marquis, and
Strathmore’s Whose Who.
Jeffry
T. Watson, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation
Dr. Watson received his MD degree from University
of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1994 and also completed
his Internship (1995) and orthopaedic residency (1999) through University
of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
He completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship under at Washington
University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO under the direction
of Richard Gelberman, M.D., Paul Manske, M.D., Martin Boyer, M.D.,
and Ken Yamaguchi, M.D..
His clinical interests include:
hand and upper extremity reconstruction.
Paul
Rummo, DO
Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation
Dr. Rummo is a graduate of the University of New England
College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine
residency at Memorial Health Care in Worcester, Massachusetts, followed
by a fellowship in primary care sports medicine here at Vanderbilt
University.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Rummo continued to build
a busy practice at Vanderbilt Sports Medicine Center treating patients
with sports injuries and non-surgical orthopaedic problems. He also
served as team physician for Vanderbilt University and Belmont University
athletic departments, and assisted in the primary care sports medicine
fellowship program at Vanderbilt University. In addition, Dr. Rummo
served as Associate Medical Director of the Country Music Marathon.
Dr. Rummo returned to New England in 2000 and continued
practicing sports medicine and non-surgical orthopaedics in the
White Mountains of New Hampshire. He is very excited returning to
Vanderbilt University to be a member of the sports medicine team
and Hand Center as well as a team physician.
Dr. Rummo is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine
and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in primary care
sports medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Society
for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.
His clinical interests include:
treatment of all athletic injuries and non-surgical orthopaedic
problems in patients of all ages.
