The Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Fitness mission: 

To improve the lives of others through medically based rehabilitation and fitness

programs

 Target Population:

We seek to serve our Adult Vanderbilt Orthopaedic patients.  Whether it is back, knee, shoulder or ankle pain we can customize a program to get you moving again!   But our service does not stop with rehabilitation.  Our goal is for our patients to be able to overcome their injury and gain confidence to begin living a healthier, more active and quality lifestyle through fitness and education.

 

 Who We Are:

Our staff is comprised of highly educated, certified and credentialed Exercise Specialists and personal trainers working in conjunction with Licensed Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Certified Athletic Trainers and Vanderbilt Physicians, to recognize, rehabilitate and prevent orthopedic injuries.

 

 Our Facility:

The Vanderbilt Orthopedic Institute Fitness Center is a state of the art 10,000 sq. ft. facility designed to meet the current and future needs of our patients with orthopaedic issues.

  • Recumbent Bikes

  • 1/13 th Mile Indoor Track
  • Elliptical Trainers
  • Strength Circuits
  • Free Weight Area
  • 10 foot x 15 foot Aquatic Vessel – for group and individualized training.
  • Multi-Purpose/Education classroom
  • Fitness and Aerobics Studio

 

 

 What we Offer:

Our patients are eligible for our post-rehabilitation Fitness and Maintenance programs focusing on:

 

Your membership will entitle you to equipment orientation, assistance with your fitness goals by our fitness staff, as well as admittance to any of the fitness classes we offer.

Our current classes include:

  • Spinervals Cycling
  • Indoor Cycling to a Movie
  • Back Basics

Membership Amenities include locker facility, showers and towel service. You may be a member for up to 6 months following your release from your physician and/or from physical therapy. Parking is Free!  You may self-park or use our Valet Service at no cost to you.  Please bring your ticket to our front desk for validation!

 

 

Fee Structure:

Initiation fee - $50.00

Monthly fee - $50.00

 

 

Current Hours of Operation:

Monday through Friday   6:00am to 7:00pm
Saturday 8:00am to 12:00pm

 

 Where to find us:

We are located on the third floor of the Medical Center East, in the South tower adjacent to outpatient physical therapy and Vanderbilt Sports Medicine and Vanderbilt Hand Centers.  See our Maps page
